Be Thou My Vision - Jars Of Clay
Be Thou My Vision performed by Jars Of Clay
I expect you are well-equipped with vision and a sense of purpose. No doubt you are an inspiration to those who depend upon you and that you are leading them to achieve their goals. I pray that you and I are blessed by the LORD with a vision aligned with HIS plan for the future for us and those we love. ‘Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law’ [Proverbs 29:18 ESV]] my brother-in-Christ COL Mikel J. Burroughs.
I pray for eyes to see what we need to see and ears to hear YOU Holy Spirit and sound judgement, discernment and compassion for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. I am thankful that YOU cleanse us of all desires opposed to YOUR will for us. By YOUR grace YOU fulfill each desire aligned with YOUR will for us as YOU enable each to fulfill our purpose. 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? [Romans 8:28-31 ESV]
I pray for clarity of purpose and focus in our daily walk of faith for each one of us LORD YOU alone know what the future holds for each of in this life. Thank YOU for sanctifying the soul of each of us as YOU prepare us to face future challenges and trials. ‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.’ [Proverbs 19:21 ESV]
I pray that YOU bless those too timid and fearful, who have minimal hope, with desires YOU shall fulfill and a vision to guide them to personal victory. ‘Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law’ [Proverbs 29:18 ESV]. I pray that YOU bless the abused and fearful with boldness to face their fears and abusers. The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.’ Proverbs 28:1 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD and HIS plan for us as HE works all to good for us corporately and individually.
a. Philippians 1:6 ESV 'And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.’ ’
b. Jeremiah 29:11-14 ESV ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.’
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Glad Bella is flying out to be with you on your anniversary. I know you miss each other when you are out on the road. I am looking forward to those pictures!
So many ways to think about "lack" in our lives. We just finished up a year of lockdown and saw the impact of both a lack of social contact and structure on the population of our country and others as well. We saw the lack of discipline and respect result in terrible outcomes for some cities and states. And the lack of integrity and honesty resulted in the unnecessary deaths of loved ones. In our caregivers' workshops we discuss what happens when we lack social connection and assistance from others and how to mitigate that as well as how to help ourselves and our loved ones with appropriate measures. As we resume our lives, perhaps it is a good time to look at what is lacking in our lives, our relationships (including with God), our work and what we can do about that deficit.

Good morning Col Burroughs and all the rest of my RP family. Are you lacking anything? Leaders who prepare their troops, help them to be prepared for the mission and they then should be lacking nothing. The question that I have is are you lacking in your faith. Many say they have faith and believe, but when the chips are down, they worry that they won’t succeed with their mission, whether it be in the military setting or civilian sitting. I believe that if we lack faith in our spiritual lives, we have missed the most important element. Having faith that we can trust God in all things will greatly impact our emotional and physical state. If you think about the animals that God provides for, then certainly we rest assured that we who are created in the image of our Creator God, will not be lacking in anything. I pray that y’all have the faith to meet your daily challenges by not lacking the faith that God has a plan for you.

Lack Nothing
Exodus 7–8
Matthew 15:1–20
God is able to bless you abundantly, so that . . . you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
Today's Scripture & Insight:
Mark 6:7–12
Imagine going on a trip without luggage. No basic necessities. No change of clothing. No money or credit cards. Sounds both unwise and terrifying, doesn’t it?
But that’s exactly what Jesus told His twelve disciples to do when He sent them out on their first mission to preach and heal. “Take nothing for the journey except a staff,” said Jesus. “No bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt” (Mark 6:8–9).
Yet later on when Jesus was preparing them for their work after He was gone, He told His disciples, “If you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one” (Luke 22:36).
So, what’s the point here? It’s about trusting God to supply.
When Jesus referred back to that first trip, He asked the disciples, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” And they answered, “Nothing” (v. 35). The disciples had everything they needed to carry out what God had called them to do. He was able to supply them with the power to do His work (Mark 6:7).
Do we trust God to supply our needs? Are we also taking personal responsibility and planning? Let’s have faith that He will give us what we need to carry out His work.
