Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse and Happy Father's Day to those of you who are dads or who have mentored young'ens.
As you come toward the end of your ride, your subject is so very appropriate. Complete. Completing projects is something that gives us a sense of well deserved pride and accomplishment. It helps us see how much we can do. What we need to remember though is that what we do is not who we are. We are ourselves, a complete package; what we do or say is like frosting on a cake, it is on the outside, not the inside of us. We can change that but it doesn't change the essence of who we are: complete and perfect as we were made to be. So many Father's Day cards talk about how one completes another...that's not the case, one compliments another's completion as a person. All our puzzle pieces are there already just waiting to be assembled.

I expect that your attempts to reach long-term goals has at times has seemed to wax and wane at others. No doubt you honored your father on Father’s Day. The LORD admonishes us to honor our father and mother. We are called upon to honor our father even if he did not behave honorably at times or consistently. I hope and pray that each of us who are mothers and fathers are striving to honorable, trustworthy and worthy of emulation. 'Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. [Exodus 20:12 ESV] my Sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray that YOU bless each adopted son and daughter of God who reads or listens to this prayer with sufficient endurance, stamina, and focus to meet the goals YOU have set for each of us. YOU know what is best for each and for all. By YOUR grace, YOU purge us of desires inappropriate for us in YOUR perfect timing. Thank YOU, LORD for sanctifying each of us and preparing us throughout our lives. YOU complete the soul of each of us into the perfect reflection of YOUR image. ‘Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis. Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” [Genesis 1:26-27 ESV]
I lift spouses to YOU LORD. By YOUR grace You ordained marriage between the first man and woman YOU created. I pray that YOU bless each marriage of YOUR adopted sons and daughters. ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.’ [Genesis 2:24-25]
I lift widows and widowers to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each with joy and peace as they grieve until completion. Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts; his name is the LORD; exult before him! Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.’ [Psalm 68:4-6 ESV]
The LORD admonishes each of us that HE will complete what HE began in our lives.
c. Philippians 1:6 ESV 'And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus. ‘
d. Isaiah 53:4-6 ESV 'Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities, upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.’
I pray that you honor your parents and demonstrate honor to them whether living or deceased.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Day 18 of the "RIPRIDE4Vets 2021" – Getting ready to bust over 9,000 miles and the ride continues. By the way, I’ve had a hard time keeping up with what day is what and I just realized that I would complete this ride on 20 days, not 21 days. So, yesterday was actually Day 18 and I had a great escort from the owners of the Psycho Silo bring me in from Kewanee at Reiman’s Harley Davidson ion their motorcycles. The event at Psycho Silo Saloon in Langley, IL was awesome, got a lot of donations, and then from there I traveled down to Carlinville, IL in the rain once again and had dinner with COL (Ret) John P. Edwards, Former Commander of the 357th Aviation Detachment back in 1977 and his wife Jackie Edwards. Put in a lot of miles, so trying to meet Col Carl Whicker for breakfast this morning.

What a cool trip you are on brother. Hundreds of memories, and raising money to help veterans on top of it.
