Good morning Col Burroughs and posse. I thought yesterday's event went well and we'll see if we can raise the bar for riders at our VFV event in October.
We have to continue to make progress, move forward and raise the bar if we want to remain relevant and accomplish great things. I always refer back to Will Roger's quote: “Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” – Will Rogers Raising the bar on performance is the same thing...if you continue to perform at the same level, others will surpass you even if you had the lead to start with. First, raise the bar for yourself and then challenge those you lead to do the same.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - President Ronald Reagan did pretty well indeed! More like SUPERBLY! Unequaled to this day! We were blessed to have him lead us when we needed him the most. The Great Communicator knew his audience and how to reach us and stimulate us with his words. We need him now but I don’t see his equal anywhere among us.

Hopefully you are discerning enough to set the bar at a challenging yet attainable level for those you are responsible for leading, advising and counseling. No doubt you have benefitted from the gradually raising of the bar as a child as you learned to crawl, walk, run; being pushed in a stroller, riding a tricycle, riding a bike, to driving car. I expect that you have recovered as medical patient and probably a surgical patient at least once so far. No doubt the medical professionals raised the bar for you during physical therapy, rehabilitative training, coincident with periodic reassessment and measuring of your capabilities and abilities. I expect you understand that the most important bar for humanity was set by the LORD before time began. I hope that you like I greatly appreciate the grace of God WHO sacrificed HIS own blood to atone for our sins in order for us to be justified before God. 'So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.' [Matthew 7:12-14 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray YOU bless each adopted son and daughter of God who reads or listens to this prayer to with sufficient humility, discernment, and motivate each of us to assist and encouraging those who rely on us to meet and exceed requirements. I am thankful that YOU bless parents with insight to train their children as YOU make it clear how unique and marvelous each child is. I pray for attentiveness and discernment for each parent as they raise the bar and encourage their children to meet it, then praise the child and raise the bar again for the training and education of their children – from tricycles, to training wheels to riding bikes; from learning the alphabet, to enunciating, to reading on their own, and increasing the level of what they read. ‘But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.’ [1 Thessalonians 5:8-11 ESV]
I lift those afflicted with PTSD, mental illness, serious infective illnesses, cancers and significant physical disabilities to YOU LORD as well as the medical professionals, rehabilitative trainers and counselors. I pray that YOU bless the medical and rehabilitative professionals with discernment, patience, skill, and compassion as they work to help people recover from injuries and diseases. I pray that YOU give insight and great communication skills to educators and trainers who are training and educating children, military personnel and others undergoing training. ‘It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons’ [Hebrews 12:6-7 ESV]
I pray we each heed the admonition of the LORD and are encouraged
1. 'We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.' [1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 ESV]
2. ‘But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.’ [Titus 2:1-5 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Never settle for the status quo - push for more and raise that bar PO2 (Join to see)...

“It’s time to raise the bar and set some new goals, standards, and objectives for yourself and others. Why Not? There is always room for improvement in everything we set out to do. Give it a shot, don’t be satisfied with the status quo – shake it up. That leads me to this quote…

‘What you put up with – you end up with. Raise the Bar!’ – Unknown Author

May you always consider raising the bar for your personal growth; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good morning, Colonel. Looking back at my life I didn't set the bar higher for myself as I should have. Too many times I accepted mediocrity and doing the minimum necessary. Only those times when I did set the bar higher did I feel the satisfaction and enjoyment doing the event. The event could be a relationship, a test, a job, and my call to service by God.
