Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. The summer is flying by...
I truly believe that we are meant to meet people. I look at every new encounter as an opportunity to learn, to connect and to see where this person might fit into the puzzle of my life. Oftentimes I see God's hand in it; I've told stories of meeting people on planes, at events, after doing presentations that have become so much a part of my life. And then there's RP and all the people from my military and school counseling careers who have stayed with me, sometimes disappearing for a bit and then resurfacing just at the right time. God's hand in it.

Beautiful story SGT John Graham Congratulations on finding your soulmate. In 1975 I was visiting my HQ at Kelly AFB on TDY from Germany to attend a meeting. It should have lasted only five days but was extended to a month so I could work on a special project for CSAF. I was only here for three days when an old college friend suggested we meet for dinner. As we were finishing our meal, two very attractive young ladies came in and sat down at a table about 15 feet away. I ordered a drink and dawdled while scanning the ladies. One had huge blue eyes and I caught her looking at me. I picked up my drink and walked over and introduced myself and asked if we could buy them drinks. “Oh no thanks,” said Blue Eyes; “We have to go to work tomorrow.” I assured her we did also, then asked them to join us for a little dancing at a joint across the street. They agreed, so we went over there and danced for all of 15 minutes. The Blue Eyes said they must go so I asked if we could escort them home. They agreed and we followed to their apartment nearby. When they climbed the stairs to their apartment, I took the hand of Blue Eyes as though to shake it, but instead I raise it to my lips and kissed it. I told her how much I enjoyed her company that evening and asked if she would have dinner with me one evening in the following week; she agreed and gave me her phone number. I called and we had a wonderful dinner together. I asked her to repeat the next evening, and so began our whirlwind courtship. At the end of my TDY I asked her to accompany me back to Germany. She agreed so we stopped in D.C. to get her a passport and the next day flew out from Dulles to Frankfort. We visited Strasbourg, Heidelberg and Wiesbaden and I introduced her to my co-workers. Then she said she needed to return home as her one week vacation time was ending. I proposed marriage to her and took her back to Frankfurt for her trip home and asked that she return in a month so we could be married. She didn’t answer initially, but I called her a few days later and asked if she would return; she paused, then asked “Can I bring my cat?” I said “Of course you can bring your cat!” And so she returned, with her cat carrier in hand, and we were married in London at Kensington Town Hall on 31 October 1975, not quite four months after we met.

I expect that you are spiritually mature, humble and willing to share more readily share selflessly from abundance as well as more scarce resources. No doubt your openness, demonstration of respect for each person, and trustworthy nature is worthy of emulation. In all likelihood your friendliness and appropriate sense of humor is welcome virtually every place you go. I also expect that you may well be kind to strangers who cross your path. ‘Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.’ Hebrews 13:2 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
I pray LORD that YOU bless each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or hears it with a large measure of humility, kindness, and wisdom. Let YOUR light cleanse us of all impurity. Fulfill YOUR word in and through us, dear LORD. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." [Matthew 5:14, 15-16 ESV]
I pray that each of us thankful for our personal relationship with YOU and thankful for our brothers and sisters-in-Christ. In YOUR perfect timing YOU regenerated our stony heart/soul into a heart of flesh. YOU accept us as we are at all times. 'Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.'. Philippians 4:21-23
I pray that we increasingly demonstrate respect each person we meet or whose path crosses ours. I hope and pray that each of are generous with our time and talents and hope that you are generous with your treasure - the temporary treasure of financial resources and more importantly the treasure of relationship with God through the atonement of the Christ. ‘do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.’ [1 Timothy 6:18-19 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Saturday night and awake refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

1LT Voyle Smith Beautiful tribute. I had penned a response only to have lost it into somewhere...need to use my PC instead of tablet. Anyway, I was a veteran and newly sworn officer. Ten feet tall and bulletproof. Alas I was still six foot and not bullet proof. I ended up dinged in the right hip with the round bulging behind my right knee. After surgery I was told it was time for a bed bath. A vision of an angel approached carrying a basin. She slipped and I got my bed bath all at once. Splattering I started to shout, but then I had to laugh. Her supervisor Haring the basin clattering came running. She looked shocked, then quickly organized a bedding, dressing change, and a better bath. Several days later I tracked her down on the phone. We talked for several hours. I met somebody that encouraged me to change (it was needed). It turned out that the Supervisor, thought we would make a cute couple. So she assigned Susan to my unit. I don't know what her supervisor saw in us, but 40 plus years later we are still in love. l of course am in charge, well when allowed. Funny how a chance encounter can change people. I just knew we right together. Funny how we guys can be swayed by others.

I've had many encounters with new people that have resulted in awesome friendship and business opportunities over the years PO2 (Join to see) - thanks brother...
“In the final chapter of this life I’ve made it my goal to meet and reach as many people as possible through my words, inspiration, leadership, support, and friendship as I can. That leads me to this quote worth remembering…
‘Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.’ – Bill Nye
May you meet some awesome people during your lifetime that will inspire and motivate you like you’ve never been motivated or inspired before; may you find new friends that will support you and be there for you when you need them; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good “Saturday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from what looks to be a beautiful Saturday!!! Here's hoping your day in The Woodlands , TX will be equally beautiful!!!
Today is: “Meeting People Day!” Why Not?
"Meeting people in a genuine way and feeling like there is a vital and meaningful connection going on makes me come alive." - Sharon Salzberg
"What makes me most happy is connecting with others. I love meeting new people, being social, and engaging in empowering discussions." - Gabrielle Bernstein
"Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what's right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in." - Andrew Zimmern
"You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you." - Dale Carnegie
"When you meet anyone, treat the event as a holy encounter. It's through others that we either find or love our self. For you see, nothing is accomplished without others. When you eliminate the concept of separation from your thoughts and your behavior, you begin to feel your connection to everything and everyone." - Wayne Dyer
"Life is beautiful not because of the things we see or do. Life is beautiful because of the people we meet." - Simon Sinek
Each day we each have a chance to meet interesting people and note the Colonel's comment below...
“I had the great opportunity to - meet some very awesome professional people and warriors here on RallyPoint, in person on the road and virtually through the forum — their stories are all unique — sharing is caring!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs…
