Always SGT Steve McFarland - thanks brother - I know you've endure a lot my friend throughout your life...

“Some who will read this will have to endure struggles and pain and for others it will be just another day. At one time in all our lives we’ve had to endure something to move forward and there will be a day in the future when we will call upon our ability to endure once again. That leads me to this quote…

‘Stay strong and endure. One day you will be able to look back and say…I made it!’ — Unknown Author

May you always have the courage and persistence to endure any obstacle today and in the future; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect you recognize that the LORD is in complete control of every aspect of our lives. HE builds patience in us through trials and testing. When we face unexpected challenges, it is wise to seek the LORD’s guidance. As mature believers, we understand that oftentimes the trials and testing seasons we face are for the benefit of others as well as ourselves. 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV] my brother-in-Christ SGT Steve McFarland.

I pray for discernment, alertness, endurance in selfless service, and compassion and sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit self-control and patience for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. I am thankful that YOU are strengthening the character and fortitude of each of us as YOU prepare us. I expect you appreciate the types of challenges which stimulate your mind without too much stress on your talents and resources. No doubt you are aware of the admonitions of the LORD to submit our plans to HIM and rely on HIS guidance. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to Him and HE will make your path straight.’ [Proverbs 3:5-6]
I hope you and I submit our plans to the LORD and do not resist any changes HE makes to our plans, goals and agenda. I thank YOU LORD for sanctifying the soul of each of us. YOU guide us step by step throughout our life on this earth. You prepare us through challenges and trials as YOU mature us in YOUR perfect timing. ‘Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV]
I expect that you stand firm on bedrock principles which at times are tested by direct challenges; you have stood up at times for family members and friends; and those who rely on you for leadership. I hope your firm foundation in character and your courage of convictions has increased along with the respect of others. I hope that our personal integrity is impeccable and that we demonstrate love with grace as we stand firmly. I pray that you and I stand firm on rock-solid principles rooted in the Word of God all the rest of our days. ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. [Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV]
I lift those going through unexpected challenges to YOU LORD. I thank YOU for preparing each of us as YOU use testing to burn off the dross from our character and firm us up. I hope that each of us are thankful for all YOU do for us including the good and the bad. YOU shape our character through challenges and trials. Enable us to learn quickly the lessons we need to learn for ourselves. Empower us to share what we have learned to bless other individuals. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.’ [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
In this late summer month of August 2021, as POTUS Biden and the Secretary of Health and Human Service Merrick Brian Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and their radical progressive cohorts support induced abortion to be a right and to be funded by the Federal government including abortion outside this nation. POTUS Biden and Nancy Pelosi claim to be Roman Catholics. I pray that YOU do all that is necessary to motivate them each to repent from their support for Federal funded induced abortion. YOUR patience is beyond our imagination ‘What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles. [Romans 9:22-24 ESV]
I pray that you and I heed the admonition of the LORD
a. ‘Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. [Luke 6:47-48 ESV]
b. Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” [Matthew 22:36-40]
I pray that you and your family members slept well Thursday night and will awoke refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Just logged on to RP and am also getting set up for my IT shift for today... more to come... and I am back...
____________________________________________________________________________
Good “Thursday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader, from the clear but humid skies of the Greater Boston Area... We are now in the middle of a heat wave which is to last at least two more days or more...

Today is: “Endure Day!” Why Not? Endure is a powerful word, one that must be taken seriously... Here are the quotes I selected, which presented that seriousness to me...

"Without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure." - Ronald Reagan

"Don't pray for an easy life, pray to be a stronger man." - John F. Kennedy

"The spirit is the true self. The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure." - Marcus Tullius Cicero

"The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper. Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we - in a less final, less heroic way - be willing to give of ourselves." - Ronald Reagan

"All endeavor calls for the ability to tramp the last mile, shape the last plan, endure the last hours toil. The fight to the finish spirit is the one... characteristic we must posses if we are to face the future as finishers." - Henry David Thoreau

"You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give." - E. O. Wilson

Each of us endures something in life...some more than others, but...

“Leaders need to endure to keep leading and handling the challenges they’ll face each and every day – it takes time, patience, energy and endurance to keep leading!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs…
