The Colonel's Motivational/Inspirational Quotes and Message of the Day and Week!
Maturity. We're not seeing much of that on display lately. And that's a large part of the reason we are dealing with the sorts of situations we seem to see on the news daily. The ability to think things through and judge the impact on others is part of maturity. Knowing how to discuss rather than argue, how to walk away when the conversation isn't productive is another maturity skill. Taking responsibility for your choices and actions...maturity! What do you feel is an important part of maturity?

I pray for a sufficient increase of the fruit of the Spirit goodness, faithfulness, self-control and selfless love for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters dear LORD. I am thankful LORD that YOU prepare each of us to not only deal with what will occur but to help others prosper. You designed each of us learn and share by demonstration; Biblical love and spiritual maturity. 'Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.' [1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV]
I lift parents, guardians, grandparents, children and grandchildren to YOU dear LORD. YOU design each child to learn best – some through seeing, others through hearing, others by touching and handling and most by a combination. I pray for discernment and sufficient love and kindness for each parent, guardian, or grandparent responsible for each child. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 22:6 ESV]
I lift each so-called mentally retarded, autistic, and other handicapped child; those suffering from PTSD, psychiatric diseases and/or disorders; the addicted to drugs and other ailments to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU protect each preborn child who has been labeled autistic or retarded from induced abortion in all its forms. I pray that YOU bless each individual who has been diagnosed with PTSD and/or other mental afflictions with HOPE in YOU. ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.’ [Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.

“Today’s topic can be very controversial, so please join in professionally today. The message today is about ‘maturity’ and how it affects our lives, communications, leadership, and relationships. There are some that show great amounts of maturity and there are those that still to this day act with immaturity. Sometimes the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree when it comes to leadership. If leaders are immature, then those who follow or are part of a team pick up some very bad habits along the way. That leads to me this quote for today…
‘Maturity is not when we start speaking big things… it is when we start understanding small things.’ – Unknown Author
I my quote about leadership today may you follow some sound advice and remember that is only an opinion; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Most Warriors have a great deal of maturity that they picked up along the way from their military service. Not all, but most do — what side of the fence are you on?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

It is: “Maturity Day!” ...and certainly, Why Not?
MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
Maturity and Wisdom are achieved when one stays focused and develops the responsibility and commitment to positive achievement while eliminating inane and negative objectives." Kerry F. Harkins - April 16, 2021
"Maturity is the ability to postpone gratification." - Sigmund Freud
"The first sign of maturity is not reacting to others immaturity." - D. Muthukrishnan
"Maturity is when you live your life by your commitments, not by your feelings." - Rick Warren
"Youth ends when egotism does; maturity begins when one lives for others." - Hermann Hesse
"Maturity doesn’t come with age; it comes with acceptance of responsibility." - John C. Maxwell
"Show wisdom. Do not jump to conclusions. Take a broader view. Give very practical answers. Take a balanced view. Don’t be so dogmatic. Be more tolerant. Look deeper into things. Generate and consider alternatives. Look at things from many angles." - Thibaut
Know and remember this my Brothers and Sisters...
"Mature leaders value people over position and connections over control. They continually learn, grow, and improve. They don’t respond to immaturity; they move past it and lead toward action despite problems and complexities." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
