Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. I have to make a run to the clinic this morning for bloodwork; something a bit "off" showed up in the last go round so they want to repeat the test. Still waiting on a call for the vaccine though; was advised we are still on the wait list.
Roads...I definitely took the one less traveled by those in my family when I joined the Air Force. Most of the men had served; no one had made a career of it. They went in to fight for the country and got out at the end of it. It was the right choice for me and I don't regret it. My follow on career in counseling also took a turn to the less traveled by working with adult students and then getting my professional counseling license; apparently less than 5% of school counselors do so. It was clearly, however, the right choice for me...just because the road you choose isn't the one that most of the others have chosen doesn't make it a poor choice, just a more unusual one. And in some places you might have to carve your own. Be courageous, if it is what you want, find a way!

I hope you are indeed on the narrow path to eternal life by God’s grace and mercy. Scripture admonishes that many who think they have a personal relationship with God are deluded. They tend to be people seeking their own glory and denying God’s glory in their heart/soul – this includes false prophets, as well as those who build immense platforms for their own glory while saying they are doing it for God. God knows the condition of our heart and soul. 'For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.' [Matthew 7-14 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I thank YOU LORD for the gift of salvation and justification. Nobody deserves salvation and yet by YOUR grace alone, YOU bless YOUR own with the free gift of personal relationship with YOU. YOU sanctify each of YOUR own in YOUR perfect sequencing and timing. I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters is grateful to YOU for all YOU do for us including leading us through the valley of the shadow of death. ‘For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation, I will sing your praise.’ [Hebrews 2:10-12 ESV]
I pray for each adopted son and daughter of God who is grieving loss of family members, livelihood, home, finances and fair-weather friends. YOU designed grief and YOU enable us to grieve to completion. I pray that YOU bless each grieving person with the ability to rest peacefully and periodic joy in the midst of their grief. I pray that YOU guide great listeners to come alongside each grieving person and family. ‘For the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; for he does not afflict from his heart or grieve the children of men. [Lamentations 3:30-32 ESV]
LORD I lift YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are earnestly praying for salvation of loved ones and healing for loved ones. I pray that YOU answer yes to the majority of these earnest prayers and as much healing as YOU are willing. I am grateful that YOU heal each one of YOURS from all sin and YOU provide temporary healing for many. ‘Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.’ [James 5:14-16 ESV]
I pray for those struggling along the road of life because of pain, weakness, fear, abuse and/or injustice. LORD I pray that YOU deliver each of YOUR own in YOUR perfect timing. We recognize that YOU build character through our challenges. Strengthen our endurance through these trails dear LORD. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.' [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
I pray for peace and joy for each widow, widower, orphan and parent of dead children. I pray that YOU bless each with fulfillment of their deepest desires in YOUR perfect timing. ‘but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. [Isaiah 40:31 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.

Good “Tuesday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the hazy skies moving through SW Florida as a cold front sweeps across the state on its way up the Atlantic Coast... I am behind the 8-ball this morning as I am working my IT shift this morning, but have managed to squeeze in a few short posts in the process... My response today will be a bit short, I feel, as Work comes before pleasure! LOL!

In my main Meme, make sure you note the words in the lower right hand corner... Maybe what He wrote is why He was taken...

It is “Road Day!” where it is better taking the high road than the lower one...

"Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason." - Jerry Seinfeld

"The road to Easy Street goes through the sewer." - John Madden

"Everyone goes down a road that they're not supposed to go down. You can do two things from it. You can keep going down that road and go to a dark place. Or you can turn and go up the hill and go to the top - try to go to the top." - Julian Edelman

"Success is not a destination, but the road that you're on. Being successful means that you're working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That's living your dream." - Marlon Wayans

"Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.” – Emma Chase

"Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!" - Bob Marley

“We are not here to curse the darkness, but to light the candle that can guide us thru that darkness to a safe and sane future.” – John F. Kennedy

And so my Brothers and Sisters...

“The road for leadership can be long and hard, with many turns, forks in the road, and dead ends, but it will provide many useful and unexpected lessons learned along the way!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good morning Col Burroughs and all the rest of my RP Family. In my search for a response to the Motivational Quote, I ran into an interesting article about roads in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible. As I’ve read the Bible over the years, I never gave muchreally thought about the significance of roads, as we are discussing today. They certainly had many parallels to life as to what we face today. We each choose our road to our destination and have our ups and downs. For me, when I use the road that I chose, to give myself to Gods design for me and to live it fully, I hope and pray that I have made the right choice so that it brings all Glory to God for his majesty and Love. I pray that y’all use the gifts you have been given by God, to the fullest and receive many blessings for it. I have included the link below for y’all to enjoy. May you be blessed today and always.
