LORD, I lift those suffering from PTSD, those who are insane, the suicidally depressed and other despondent people to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each one of these individuals with grace and endurance to survive and if possible, thrive through these challenging times. By your grace YOU oppose the proud and give grace to the humble. ‘“Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride. [Proverbs 21:24 ESV]
I pray for those adopted sons and daughters who are overly proud of their status, pedigree, worldly riches and/or leadership skills. I pray that You bless each one with an increase of the fruit of the Spirit humility. For those who resist, I pray that YOU humble them since YOU love them perfectly. ‘Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.’ [James 7-10 ESV]
I pray that the United States Congress will negotiate in good faith and develop authorization and appropriation legislation to fund the critical Federal government functions by next week. I pray for compromise on non-essential riders to the legislation. Hopefully the riders will be stripped from the legislation as unnecessary pork.
I pray for wisdom and sufficient capabilities and funding for those developing, manufacturing, storing and distributing SARS-Cov-2 vaccines and treatment. I pray that sufficient vaccine will be developed and distributed for the essential health workers, front line police, and most at-risk individuals. I pray that any attempts to steal or destroy vaccines and capabilities will be quashed before they can act.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
