Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs So many ways to go with this one.
It can be really hard to let go of things or people or memories but sometimes it is absolutely necessary. It is difficult, if not impossible to move forward if you are holding on to a weight that is heavier than you can move. I have worked with people dragging so much emotional baggage that their lives have come to a complete standstill. Look at what you are holding on to. Some things are worth carrying and some are not. Is there something (or someone) you need to let go of in order to get to a better place?

Great post LTC Charlie Brown. I am no professional counselor but I do listen to people with addictions and who have carried all the baggage that goes along with that issue. It becomes a lifestyle and unfortunately they are comfortable with it. Getting people to break out of that lifestyle and taking that risk of being uncomfortable is challenging. We teach about our new identity in Christ. We confess what the scriptures say about us. We can be born again. Putting away our former ways of doing things and putting on our new identity in Christ.

Guilt is the number one thing that hurts the human heart and soul. Forgiving oneself is the first step to healing. Asking for forgiveness is never easy.

I pray that you let go of all past hurts, disappointments and mistakes and offer up what you can’t let go by yourself to our LORD, my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown
Heavenly Father, YOU are willing to take up each and every one of the burdens of YOUR adopted sons and daughters.
LORD cleanse each of us of every improper distraction, wasteful relationship and unhealthy desire. Help each of us to cling to wholesome and edifying relationships with friends, co-workers, fellow service members, fellow veterans and family members.
I am thankful oh LORD that YOU fulfill each and every WORD of YOURs in the fullness of time. Give us grace to endure and persevere with compassion.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

“The best skill at cards is knowing when to discard.” ― Baltasar Gracián, The Art of Worldly Wisdom

Good morning Mikel! Great topic for today. I like the quote above because it shows us there is a time to discard, knowing when to let go. When we decide to let go we must move forward else we are not able to forge ahead.

Have a great day all!
