“Great” Motivational today, COL Mikel J. Burroughs!

“Greatness lies, not in being strong, but in the right using of strength; and strength is not used rightly when it serves only to carry a man above his fellows for his own solitary glory. He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own.” — Henry Ward Beecher

Good day RP Friends.

I pray that you and I can recognize the greatness in each one who loves us and that we will let them know spontaneously, my friend and sister-in-Christ Sgt Deborah Cornatzer.
LORD YOU have created each one of us in YOUR Image. YOU are the GREATEST.
YOU have blessed each one of us with greatness in multiple facets and aspects of our character and actions. I pray that we who are YOUR adopted sons and daughters will understand that each and every human being is worthy of respect and honor and that we will act accordingly. Help us to be gracious tippers in both financial terms and more importantly in bestowing sincere complements and helping people see their own greatness.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning to you COL Mikel J. Burroughs! ...and another great list of Motivational Quotes! Greatness in my mind's eye is a hidden gem, hidden because one who seeks greatness in a quiet way is the honest person who helps other achieve, while standing in the background, not seeking same... I chose two of your quotes to highlight, both simple and straight forward:

"A great man is always willing to be little." — Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Great leaders can see the greatness in others when they can’t see it themselves and lead them to their highest potential they don’t even know." — Roy T. Bennett

Yesterday, I was playing in a Golf Tournament at our Course in FL, and it was a shotgun, best ball... My team included myself and three others, two men and one woman... This wonderful lady, was a bit taken aback by the male strength while teeing off while she mightily tried to match distance... I saw what she saw, and I urged her on, encouraged her, cheered for her on each and every stroke from teeing off to putting... In so doing, I could see her strength rise, her golf ball traveling further with more accuracy, more confidence as we proceeded... She achieved a greatness I believe she didn't know she had... As a result, she had a wonderful day and our Team ended up 2-under par for our round... We weren't the winners, but we had a whale of a game!

Have a marvelously Great day, my brother!

Funny you should mention "greatness"... I just finished posting the story of the last man killed in WWI, Henry Gunther. It seems he was trying for something, maybe "greatness", to expiate the bad behavior that had lost him his rank. Chasing greatness cost him his life. Better to live a great life and not worry about the judgment of others

Interesting story, perhaps if he hadn't been chasing greatness he may have survived.
