Boy this was a tough one for me today. I had never really thought much about dancing from a Biblical standpoint until today. As I try to do each day, I attempt to see the spiritual side of the Motivational Quotes. This one was hard to research. There seems to much debate about dancing from a Godly standpoint. The bottom line for me in trying to understand dance is that God gave us the gifts we have, including dance. We can use it to Glorify God or to satisfy our worldly pleasure. I hope what I submit below will not be offensive but rather enlightening. Be blessed my RP Family.

Bible Verses About Dancing

Bible / Verses by Topic / Bible Verses About Dancing

Dancing is mentioned often in the Bible and is used throughout the Old Testament as a means of worship and praise to God. As with other activities, dancing can also be used to worship the wrong idols and many Christians think poorly of dancing all together. God was pleased with dancing that worshipped him. Let's take a look at a few Bible verses about dancing and you can make a wise decision for yourself on how to use the gift of dance.

Ecclesiastes 3:4
Chapter Parallel Compare
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

Jeremiah 31:4
Chapter Parallel Compare
4 I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.
Lamentations 5:15
Chapter Parallel Compare
15 Joy is gone from our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.
Psalm 30:11-12
Chapter Parallel Compare
11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
Psalm 149:3-4
Chapter Parallel Compare
3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Jeremiah 31:12-13
Chapter Parallel Compare
12 They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD— the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. 13 Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
Exodus 15:20-21
Chapter Parallel Compare
20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them: “Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.”
2 Samuel 6:14-17
Chapter Parallel Compare
14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets. 16 As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him in her heart. 17 They brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the LORD.
Psalm 150
Chapter Parallel Compare
1 Praise the LORD.Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs Your topic immediately reminded me of one of my favorite songs. I am a big believer in dancing; I've used it with clients who can't express themselves any other way. For me, life is a dance. You can either engage or sit on the sidelines. Which one do you choose to do?

I pray that you and I stay true to the narrow path that leads to eternal life and that we encourage others we meet along the way to as well, my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
Thank YOU, LORD for guiding and leading each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters day-by-day, hour-by-hour and at times minute-by-minute. YOU allow each of us a certain amount of latitude because YOU love each of us supremely.
I pray dear God, for wisdom, discernment and trustworthiness for each one of YOUR adopted children who reads this.
I lift up this nation of the United States of America to YOU. I pray that YOU will build bridges across the political, sociological, familial, educational, and religious divides and cause people to focus on what unites us. Empower YOUR adopted children to be the vanguard in bridging gaps across the divides winsomely and with joy overflowing.
Guide those of us who are prayer warriors to intercede for this nation, cities, towns, families and individuals as YOU direct us.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.
