Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs What an appropriate topic given our discussions over the last few days. People reaching new heights on RP, many people trying out new adventures/careers. You don't know what you can do until you try for those new heights. I believe that is one way we stay involved and young in spirit; by finding and taking on new challenges and seeing how high we can go. What are you reaching for?

I pray that you and I are mindful to assist others as we make our way upwards in life, in providing knowledge and sharing lessons from wisdom we have acquired, my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
I thank YOU LORD for proving wisdom to those who sincerely seek wisdom above all else. YOU blessed Solomon with wisdom and yet he succumbed to the influence of the riches YOU blessed him with.
I pray that YOU protect each of YOUR own from focusing on the gifts and enable us to keep our focus on our relationship with YOU.
I pray that YOU raise up leaders whose motivation is selfless and dedicated to those we lead from parents to CEOs and elected and appointed officials.
I pray that YOU remove self-styled leaders who are akin to vultures selfishly working to undermine those weaker than themselves in their own eyes.
Bless each one who sincerely seeks wisdom from YOU and able us to take wisdom to heart and apply the wisdom to bless many and hurt none.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Colonel Mikel Burroughs. I am glad that you did not make this about challenge today because my wife would have challenged me to be extra nice to her because it is her Birthday today. Seriously though, We talk a lot about eagles here on Rally Point. In life we should try to emulate how the eagle prepares its young to fly. It would be wonderful if we as leaders were to learn how to lift others up to new heights. This is true in our spiritual growth as well. We need to lead each other in reaching new heights in our relationship with God. May the following article give you a blessing today and always, my RP Family.

My thought for today

2 Chronicles 20:21 (NIV) ~ Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.”About.

They will soar on wings like eagles.
They will soar on wings like eagles.
The Eagle is beautiful bird and soars with the wind beneath its wings. With its magnificent wingspan it can climb high up above the sky.
The Bible says in Isaiah 40 v 31 (NIV) ” They will soar on wings like eagles ”
In fact the Bible talks a lot about Eagles. It is as if God is trying to teach His people, life changing lessons by talking about Eagles.
The Bible says in Job 39 v 27 to 28 (KJV) “Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place “.
Deuteronomy 32:11 (KJV) ” As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings “.
Deuteronomy 32:10 (MSG) “He was like an eagle hovering over its nest, overshadowing its young, Then spreading its wings, lifting them into the air, teaching them to fly “.
The Eagles make their nests in the high places, in the cleft of the rock, where there is safety, and security.
Now my friend, let me take you on a journey, of how the eagles are taught to fly.
Imagine, if you will, that there are three baby eaglets, in the nest. In as little as ten to twelve weeks, they grow up and their feathers develop. It is then that the parent eagle will begin to stir up the nest. As the eaglets look on, they are wondering to themselves, “What are they doing, our home, our comfort zone, is being taken away, bit by bit”, whilst the parent eagles are saying, “Children you might not like what is happening right now, but it is for your own good”.
The parent eagle then flies around and around, to show them how to fly. Then it flies back to what is left of the nest and where the three eaglets are huddled together.
Today we are going to fly! Stretch out your wings and take that step of faith.
You were born for a purpose. You were born to fly.
As the first one, nears the edge, it starts to look over the edge nervously. Then in one leap of faith, it goes over the edge. It starts to fall, and clumsily it tries to stretch out its wings, but before it hits the bottom, the parent swoops down, catches it on its back and brings it back up to the cleft. With its little heart beating, the eaglet says ” Thank you, but I never want to go through that again “. The next day however, the parent goes to the cleft were the three eaglets are, and says ” Now watch me “. The parents eagle goes to the edge of the cleft, then takes a leap off the edge, as it spreads its wings and flies.
Now its one of the eaglets turn. It goes to the edge and takes a leap off the cleft. It starts to head towards the bottom, but this time something amazing happens. As it opens up its wings, and moves them up and down, it begins to soar up, higher and higher, until it soars with the wind beneath its wings.
When the two other eaglets see what is happening, they follow the lead.
We like the eagle, make our home in the cleft of the Rock of Ages, where there is safety and security. Like the eaglets God has to stir up our nest and we might not like it, but it is for our own good. He does this to break us out of our comfort-zones. He wants us to see that we were born for the purpose-to soar with the wind of the Holy Spirit beneath our wings, lifting us up to new heights in God.
The Bible says in Isaiah 40 v 31 (NIV) ” They will soar on wings like eagles ”
My friend may you soar on the wings of eagles. And as you take that leap of faith may the wind of the Holy Spirit beneath your wings, cause you to rise to new heights-of service in God.
God bless you my friend, Matthew.
