Heavenly Father I pray that YOU will make clear to each adopted son and daughter how to communicate with each person we come into contact with. Help us to know when to listen and when to initiate a conversation or to respond. Give us grace to be respectful and courage to speak the truth without unnecessary offense. We desperately need YOUR help to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves.
Help us dear God to show respect to others even though they may be opposed to us or apathetic to us. YOU first loved us and help us to reciprocate love to our families, friends and strangers.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs . We could have used some civility on both sides in this current situation. I have to say that the Senate set a terrible example for others.
Being polite or civil doesn't mean you agree with someone. It means you have agreed to talk, to discuss and not pick up weapons either figuratively or literally. Once you do that, the discussion and ability to come to a reasoned solution is almost impossible. Where have we taken others for granted? Where can a simple please, thank you or excuse me help grease the wheels of social interaction in your space today? Can you hold a door? Respond graciously regardless of what sort of speech or lack of it you are presented with?
