The old Mason Williams gag-
She: We have to break up.
He: Why?
She: You lack awareness.
He: What's that?
For me, making the step from just seeing what was happening around me to actually understanding what was happening and why was not always easy, but it was critical to coping with unit and personnel problems, both large and small.
Cheers, Rally Point.

There are times when any path chosen has negative outcomes. A plan to handle those before they are encountered is necessary

Absolutely SP5 Dennis Loberger - have a great Monday and let me leave you with this final thought on awareness:
"May you always have a sense of awareness of what is going on in this country and what is happening around you. As warriors we all have that ingrained situational awareness and should be conscious of it every day and in everything we do. May you be aware of your health and keep it in check always; and keep your family aware, safe, secure, happy, and healthy. There are consequences when we aren't on top of our game and aware of our surroundings - Embrace your awareness!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good morning Col Burroughs. Self awareness is not, a one time thing. It means learning who you are over and over again. We need to check our egos at the door and look honestly at ourselves and our situation and then at the others around us. Life is fluid; moving and changing and so are we. Situational awareness is needed for leadership but that starts with knowing oneself; all your strengths and weaknesses and accepting who you are. Only then can you work with it to change what is needed.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Knowing one self and our abilities is key to situational awareness - it has be ingrained in our very core as warriors throughtout our careers in the military. Use it to your best ability is my motto. Have a great day and let me leave you with this final throught Charlie:
