Good Sunday morning Col Burroughs. When I saw your topic the first group I thought of are our MOH awardees who all say, the credit belongs to others. Most of us are not in situations that are at that level but even for the majority of us who have an opportunity and privilege to lead, it is critical to pass along credit where it is due. The higher up in rank you go, the more it is about decisions made rather than the actual "doing" and it is very important not to forget that fact. Those leaders will always have willing followers

I expect that you honor those who provide service to you when dining out, shopping, home delivery services, or external home services like trash pickup and that you are thankful for people who offer to assist you, much of the time. Hopefully you and I tip well for service and give credit where credit is due. ‘Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.’ [Hebrews 13:2 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift the people who serve the public in uniform and as volunteers to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each of them and their family members this holiday season with joy at home, safety on the job/volunteering and genuine thanks periodically from those they serve, including many of us.
I pray YOU place a hedge of protection around peaceful protesters and demonstrators in this nation, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, India, Australia, South Korea, Philippines, Japan, and New Zealand. I pray that police and security forces are alert to threats to attack peaceful protesters, businesses and homes in those areas.
I pray that the vast majority of people honor and respect military service members, veterans, police men and women, fire & rescue personnel, and EMT professionals and volunteers
I pray that children of all ages honor parents as parents. I pray for repentance and forgiveness for past abuse. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.’ Exodus 20:12 ESV]
I pray that husbands and wives honor and respect each other and that YOU pour out an extra measure of kindness to spouses who are YOUR adopted children tonight and throughout this season.

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ

Giving credit to those for whom credit is due is a noble gesture and a sign of humility.

Good Sunday, November 15, 2020 morning my friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs

Quotes I appreciate
1. Calvin Coolidge 'No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.'
2. Thomas Carlyle 'The Courage we desire and prize is not the courage to die decently ... but to live manfully'
3. Andre Malraux 'To command is to serve, nothing more and nothing less.'
4.

Scriptures
a. Romans 4:22-25 'That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.
b. 2 Corinthians 10:15-18 ESV 'We do not boast beyond limit in the labors of others. But our hope is that as your faith increases, our area of influence among you may be greatly enlarged, so that we may preach the gospel in lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in another’s area of influence. “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
c. Exodus 20:12 ESV “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.’
d. 1 Peter 2:15-17 ESV 'For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.'
e. John 15:12-13 'My command is this Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life.'
f. Hebrews 13:1-3 ESV 'Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.'

It is definitely a sign of humility LTC Stephen F. - thank you and Good "Sunday:" Morning my very good friend and enjoy your Sunday brother...

“The message is simple, if you give credit to those who help you achieve great things it will come back to reward you on its own time and merit, in many different forms. May you always be quick to recognize and give credit to those who’ve helped you along the way. Like in our quotes today, ‘You must be responsible for your actions, but not the credit for your achievements.’ — Denis Waitley. Hold this to be true and it will come back to you in many ways! May you always have a positive mindset with those who support and help you achieve and be positive about recognizing them for the contributions they have made and will make; may you keep your mind, body, and soul open to goodness, grace, peace, forgiveness, and life; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. ‘Great leaders give credit when things go right and take responsibility when things go wrong.’ Be that great leader in everything you do.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Love these today. Biggest team killing offense is taking credit for something the others are actually doing. Been there several times. Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday.

You have a blessed Sunday as well Maj Marty Hogan - if you want to really 'kill' the moral of your team take credit for their blood, sweat, and tears brother and see what happens in the end... Have a great Sunday Marty...
