I found an online church bulletin from 2002 that is still relevant today and I am sharing it below. I wish everyone a R.E.D. Friday and send my prayers to Sgt Mullins and Col Burroughs for a safe ride as they start their trek Sunday morning. I pray that RP members anywhere close to the route of their ride, seize the moment to go and meet them and give them support for their ride. Maybe a donation as well would be a Golden moment seized. Be blessed my RP Family.

GOD'S GOLDEN MOMENTS!
A man asked God, "What does a second mean to you?" God answered, "Like a million years to you." The man replied, "What does a million dollars mean to you?" God answered, "Like a penny to you." Then the man asked God, "Can I have one of those pennies?" God answered, "In a second." What is your take on time? People talk about using time and spending time and wasting time and killing time. We ask "What time is it?" and "Where did the time go?" and "How much time will it take?" and "Where will I find the time?" Sometimes we hear that time flies and that time marches and that time waits for no man dud flies -and that time waits Man (or woman). One of our most familiar phrases concerning time reminds us that "time is of the essence." God seems to strongly agree with that take on time. His constant challenge is for us to "redeem the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:15-16). Someone described the precious nature of time by observing that each minute is an irretrievable gift-an unredeemable slice of eternity. Another stated it this way: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a gift - that's why it's called the present."
The year 2002 stretches out before us. We have every reason to believe that throughout this year "time will fly" just as swiftly as this past year. For some it will seem to go by faster than for others. An unknown author stated what we all learn as we age: " When as a child I laughed and wept, time crept; When as a youth I dreamed and talked, time walked; When I became a full grown man, time ran; And later as older I grew, time flew; Soon I shall find while traveling on, time gone. " This is the most critical issue concerning time-our days are literally numbered. One day time will be gone. In the immortal words or Ecclesiastes 3:2 there is *a time to be born, and a time to die." Death, or course, is not the end, for the Bible says further that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" (Hebrews 9:27 New International Version). This unchangeable truth is what makes our use of time so critical. "Swiftly we're turning life's daily pages, Swiftly the hours are changing to years; How are we using God's golden moments, Shall we reap glory, Shall we reap tears?" (1st verse of "Into Our Hands"). The year 2002 will be filled with 525,600 minutes. Each will hold potential for prayer, kindness, love, and service toward God and other people. Where will you spend eternity? Will you reap glory or will you reap tears? The answer depends upon how you use your golden moments from God this year.

I pray that you and I enjoy and learn much from the wonderful times as well as the less-than-wonderful as we journey through this life, my friend and brother-in-Christ PO1 H Gene Lawrence.
I am thankful that YOU lead us step-by-step-through life before through and after our personal salvation and justification. Empower each of YOUR adopted children to be quick to discern YOUR guidance and respond accordingly.
Help us dear God to enjoy time spent with family and friends. I am thankful that YOU widen our circle by bringing people into our lives to benefit us and them as well as future generations.
I lift up recent widows, widowers, and orphans to YOU LORD. I lift up the families of those killed in Virginia Beach today and other families of those killed in carnage this year. Bring true friends alongside these people in the weeks, months and years to come to help them grieve properly and maintain contact with people who love them.
I pray that YOU bless the people participating in and/or supporting "RIPRIDE4Vets" and provide great weather for the riders throughout their treks.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good RED Friday COL Mikel J. Burroughs and I know you are busy taking care of the last minute things that pop up with your ride. I like your thought for today. Golden moments. So often we don't see them until they are in our rear view mirror. We look back and say, it was one of those times....when it all came together as it was supposed to. All of us have felt that. If you have a lot of those, you have a good life. Is there something that you can do to help make those more likely for yourself and those you love?

Lt Col Charlie Brown - You hit the nail on the head with your quote today and comments - there have been so many "Golden Moments!" in my life, one of them was Monday, Memorial Day, 27 May 2019 (for sure). Another one for me was when I took my father on his Honor Fligt to Washington DC in 6 June 2016 - that was last time we were together when he was on this earth. It was a "Golden Moment!" between father and son. There are more to come and I know what to look for and I think you do as well Charlie. Have a great weekend!
