One of my good friends from undergrad is an epidemiologist. We both worked in the microbiology and virology labs together in undergrad. He’s been spot on with everything with this pandemic. It said it would get bad. Then things would level off and then around school starting it would get really bad again with deaths and hospitalizations and that it would take about 2 years before things returned to a sense of normal. Just like other viruses this one is here to stay and it will eventually mutate to a more contagious yet less dangerous strain and most likely will require a vaccine each year that is engineered to fight the dominant strains of the virus that scientists feel will be present. Just like the flu it will be normal to say “well my child has covid and so I can’t come to work today” just like it’s normal to say “I have the flu and can’t come to work”.

Just going to take time and enough people being vaccinated and enough people being infected for things to balance out.

The fake media dis-information is scaring the hell out of most Americans.
