It does look like this underwater on the reef and shoaling, night time diving you'll see alot of more color, due to the darkness.
I have Padi and Naui SCUBA Open Water certifications since 1979, and had alot of fun, spear fishing, shelling and rescue. If you want to see another world, go SCUBA diving.

Reef is just outside of the land beach area where the coral grows, Shoals are a reef like area out in the ocean area, usually the deeper water surrounds the shoal.
