Sounds like the SecDef needs to do his homework before hand.

Praising the crew for maintaining readiness and lethality for a boat that has been docked for four years...hahaha...well he had to find something nice to say.

In all fairness, it’s not the crews fault that the Navy can’t provide the necessary maintenance/repairs. Per the article, “...the command has been executing an aggressive plan to send crew members to other submarines to both support the other ships, including deployments, and to gain Boise crewmembers valuable operational experience."

What else can they do? Maybe that’s what the Secretary was praising.
