So According to the writer of the article
"For a nation with about 1/20th the world's population, we possess an astounding 35-50 percent of civilian-owned guns."
If guns in civilians hands really are the problem, then shouldn't we have 35-50% of the worlds murders?

Damn shame that a state who touts the Second Amendment as much as Texas does requires permits. Thank God I live in a Constitutional Carry state!

PO1 John Miller I wish all the states would go to constitutional carry. It would certainly make things easier for those of us who choose to exercise that right.

PO3 (Join to see) Reality is that the only way to prevent these types of crimes whether setup or crimes of opportunity is for companies to not deliver. When you business is based on delivery, that is not really an option.

Editor's note: Since this story published, Mesquite police confirmed the driver carried a concealed handgun license from Arizona.

Texas does have a reciprocal agreement with Arizona, so while the driver may lose his job over corporate policies, he should not be charged with a firearms violation. Hopefully he won't lose his job, but if he does it is a small price to pay for not losing his life.
