The Evolution Of The Combat Boot In The US Military

Those combat boots I wore in Vietnam were supposed be tough jungle boots. They pretty much sucked. They rotted so much, they were barley on my feet. I replaced the laces several times with leather. They lasted a little longer, but were no match for constantly wet boots, drying out and getting wet again.

Wars are fought and ultimately won by the troops who slog through grime and uneven ground to take the hill. One of the most important and easily overlooked pieces of equipment for that service member is the combat boot.
