SFC George Smith Exactly, it is written so it must be true (I say that with some humor). You raise an excellent point, It is factual or an advertising mechanism? Thanks for your comment.

Beat me to it. Actually, I hope it is true and we have an air frame that is superior to all those potential aggressors.

I'm skepital of the results being touted by this article.

First, it seems that the more observable effects (target painting for other fighters) are a joint effort between F-35 and F-22 platforms; with the 35 being given all the credit in this article.

The second area is the "non-kinetic" aspects of the battlespace, and until we know more about how that's being handled I am deeply suspicious of any results being touted. Did the 35's sensors and jammers actually jam a radar, or was it just declared that the radar was jammed by exercise officials without actually doing it to not blind ourselves?

It's too easy for assumptions and convenient shortcuts to influence, be influenced by, or be misrepresented to support existing bias. This article just doesn't offer enough concrete evidence and what it does offer seems to be the F-22 and the F-35 working together and we don't know which platform is actually shouldering the bulk of that load.

There is nothing conclusive but it's being touted as "Great Success!" because it's business insider and the article is written by a blogger who covers mil/defense, from the business side. Of course it's in his interest to show that the F-35 is not a colossal money vortex of over-promise under deliver.

I'll need a lot more convincing than what is on offer here.

TSgt (Join to see) Thank you for your comments. I would have no idea on the accuracy of article or the results of the testing. I never worked in that arena. I would defer to those who have on the accuracy of the information within this article.

As would I SSgt (Join to see) . My main point of contention is that there is very little in the way of details being offered here, and a lot of hype for positive exercise results. Seems like much ado about nothing or next to nothing to me.

No foreign sales, not even to allies....for at least a decade. Guard this technology like it's the Starship Enterprise. Sell other platforms. Make the Chinese and Russians figure it out at their own peril.
