Yes, there has been a fear of how our on government can crush us. That is why the framers of our constitution created the Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment. If the government ever starts taking our land and our homes, then we need to be able to defend ourselves.

I find it interesting that it is usually the losing side that suddenly becomes anti-government. (except the extremist like Cliven Bundy)

Is our government perfect? Of course not. But it beats the hell out of whatever is in second place.

Don't like it? Run for office and change it. But we MUST support our system or lose it.
