Marine Master Sgt. Barbara Dulinsky became the first female Marine to serve in a combat zone, deploying to Vietnam in 1967.
After an 18-hour flight, Marine Master Sgt. Barbara Dulinsky arrived in Vietnam on March 18, 1967 at Bien Hoa Air Force Base, about 30 miles from Saigon. When she stepped off the plane, she made history, becoming the first female Marine to serve in a combat zone.

That is a ho-hummer...She took a flight and stepped off a plane and we consider that an accomplishment? I would have thought being a Master Sergeant was a bigger deal than an 18 hour flight and a foot touching the ground.

As long as PFT standards are not changed women should be allowed any job in the Corp . One of my first lesson at PI was not to judge who would cut it . I tried to help out a 5ft 7 150lb M60 gunner on a extended stroll thru the woods . I won't retell those horrible words he called me !!
