I always found it curious that anyone was drawn to the Corvette. It's neither fish nor fowl. Too big and heavy to be a sportscar in the tradition of European sportscars built for small, curving roads. And it's too small to keep all its power on the road and compete with real muscle cars. I suppose that's why Ford never went head to head with the Corvette. Thunderbird and Mustang may have looked sporty, but neither was ever intended as a sportscar. And the Ford GT is an entirely different animal than the Corvette. The Vet could never keep up with a GT in its intended milieu.
