I received the following in my daily email from Quartz...
More than half of all plastic ever created was produced in the last 15 years. In the next five years, the rate of plastic production is expected to increase by another third. By 2050, it will have tripled.
At the same time, the world is waking up to the realization that plastic, which lasts virtually forever, is breaking down into tiny pieces that are steadily infiltrating our food, water, and the very air we breathe—with unknown effects on our health.
In our field guide for members this week, Quartz reporter Zoë Schlanger explains:

CPT Jack Durish Never liked plastic and never will,Cpt. Jack.Walking,hunting,fishing and anything else outdoors will open a person's eyes to the problem,but there seems to be no real focus on containing the problem,no reduction in production or the use.By being outdoors so much i have seen bottles,jugs,containers and other plastic products remain for years without decomposing other than get brittle.Most people and companies will not stop using the products because of convenience and the companies producing them will not change because of the economics,simply plastic is cheap.
It is almost impossible not to use plastic in some form in our world today.
It is ironic that everyone is worried about nuclear and climate change while destroying themselves and the environment with simple plastic.
