Excellent historical read on a campaign action that really is barely mentioned in most history books... a very good example of an operational raid - with carriers - and how it had a strategic impact. More so - it is a great story!

The conclusion was pretty good - it was an operational victory for Japan - but such a raid could not pull off a strategic victory. What is not said - is its long term 2d order effect.... and that was to force the British to keep forces and resources in places that dominance of the sea would not have made occur - just incase. In that - perhaps they had a bit of strategic success after all.
