Thanks for honoring General of the Armies John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing who was the second US Army General to hold that rank [George Washington was the first]. General of the Armies equated to that of a six star general and is the highest possible operational rank of the United States Army.

Just started reading "Forty Seven Days" by Mitchell Yockelson quite an interesting read so far,he was definitely in the right place at the right time,opposed American troops being under foreign command and showed the world we were a first class fighting force.
