I am glad we have citizens like Patton when we are involved in a war. Our problem is, we don't know what to do with them when the war is over. For the life of me, I cannot picture Patton in a peace-time Army.

If he were still alive he could be my life coach. Patton would have made a great speaker and motivator like retired Gen Powell but with more directness.

I like to break out the Patton phrase "Don't tell your men how to do a task, just tell them what needs to be done. They'll surprise you with their ingenuity" during interviews. He was a man before his time and hindsight on his views appear to be close to 20/20 when taken in perspective.
