SSgt (Join to see), I've used Patton's quotes countless times on RP. You are correct. Patton would not survive in today's Army. Neither would I for that matter. I think most of the Patton era generals would not succeed today, assuming they did not adapt.
I think that General MacArthur said it correctly in that he should "just fade away". The old Army (Patton's and to some extent mine) and the Army of today are two totally different animals. Granted there are many things about today's Army that are good, and things of the Army of yesteryear that needed to go. However, some of the good of the old Army has gone by the wayside, to the detriment of the Army in my opinion. LTC Roger Gaines LTC Stephen F.

LTC Stephen C. I think you're right, sir. I think today's military is too focused on making people feel included & trying not to trigger or offend anyone. That's not what a military is for. We exist to break things...lol. We aren't a creation to make sure you feel cozy, we are a creation to ensure you remain safe in your homes. We are the people willing to take the fight to those that want to bring the fight to you.
