What a lot of people fail to consider is, are these BCD's/Less Than Honorable discharges for misconduct related in any way to the veteran's mental health state? Meaning, did that veteran turn into an asshole and verbally/physically assault that Officer who pissed them off because of the TBI/PTS/MST that messed up their heads?

This is the problem a "Less Than Honorable" or what is called by the military Other Than Honorable" UTH is NOT a Bad Conduct Discharge, "BCD" they are different in that the UTH is a administrative discharge done by command. A Bad Conduct Discharge, "BCD" or a Dishonorable Discharge can only be issued by a court-martial. People want to lump them all together as a BCD or DD they are all different for VA purposes.

Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
PTSD which was once known as shell shock has affected many. Some may have been discharged with punitive discharges who might have benefited from treatment instead of discharge. Hindsight tends to be 20/20 is not necessarily reflective of what was going on at the time.
