That is an opinion...

My opinion? If you are not objective, if you *HATE* the prives, then you shouldn’t be at MCRD.

Are the DIs hard? Damn right! The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.

The Marines are a machine. A machine is only as good as it’s weakest part. We strive to have no weak parts. Dispassionately.

Capt Daniel Goodman i see no purpose in dredging up articles nearly 6 months old.

I follow, I'll obviously try to not do so in future, promise, genuine apologies, of course...I honestly hadn't looked at the article dates, I'll try to do that in future, very good point, honest, that hadn't occurred to me, however, I entirely see your point, by all means...

When you go to boot camp at MCRD Parris Island or San Diego, you need to expect a certain amount of harsh treatment. The goal is to turn ordinary teenagers into fighting machines capable of defending our country. Which is no small feat and requires a certain type of person strong enough and compassionate enough to be able to handle any given situation.

That all being said, there are better ways to train future Marines. Making someone drink vomit or take a few rotations in a dryer is cruel and unusual and does nothing to advance the training of a future United States Marine. It is in fact nothing but a power trip designed to make the individual dolling out the punishment feel better about themselves.

Personally I believe he got EXACTLY what was coming to him.

I follow, many thanks, I just, as I'd said, thought that one was so totally over the top that everyone here ought to see it...I'd had sevl USMC guys in my BOQ, one of whom I'd chatted with a few times, I realised, as idmalso said, that such things are obviously not the norm, of course...

That's brutal. I'll defer to Marines on this but I think it dishonors them...
