Wow SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I never imagined that the US Navy would strip the rating title that had defined sailors jobs and identities. While this no doubt makes it simpler for the US Navy personnel system and every new sailor I was surprised that the US Navy is more closely aligning itself with the other sevice in terms of terminology.
