Wow, CNO says he wants Navy out of Ballistic Missile Defense duty, states six destroyers and cruisers tied circling off coast of North Korea, Russia and Iran too. Indicates other missions being neglected like patroling South China Sea. Also reaffirms value and defendability of aircraft carriers. Isn't this what the ships are for? Doesn't sea based mussle systems avoid need to negotiate treaties to place at land based sites like eastern Europe? Thus is a significant policy change.

I see his point on some of it, if they have been protecting a ground based asset for years then why not build a ground based missile defense system for it.

Same reason CNO points out value of carriers, when you deploy sea based you dont gave to ask permission or sign a treaty.
