This is very true and is a massive problem in our navy and if it isn't fixed it will only get worse and eventually we are going to loose a ship to an accident. Ships aren't cheap and they do not get fixed over night either. We truthfully need a bigger budget and more ships in order for us to be able to be ready to take on another large nation if we were to go to war. Imagine being on a ship built for 350-400 now manned by 250-300 and it is requiring more maintenance with less people. We have sailors standing an eight hour watch, doing an eight hour work day, and going right back onto watch without any sleep. I have seen people so busy they haven't slept in days because our work load is so heavy that personal health gets put on the back burner.
How long can we keep pushing the bar until we have a ship sink because we neglected to provide the people on it the resources they needed?

I completely agree with you. I knew some of the people who were on the most recent ships that have been hit. I hope our congress soon learns we need more if we hope to continue on our mission. I would love to never loose a fellow shipmate to a needless mishap.
