The Navy's Cruisers Are Old and It Has Nothing to Replace Them With

Perhaps some of the stall has been bloated budgets on projects like this, or bloated asking prices. However, this is probably something that should be moved on quickly. With other nations starting to show they are building up a navy, perhaps we need to get ours a bit modern?

What would be the future mission for the Navy? They transport aircraft, Seals, Marines, and other weaponry. They also maintain subs that DJT discloses locations thereof. But, from the 21’st century looking forward, do we need big ships?
