There's not even an authors name to go with this OpEd. Unless I'm blind, which is possible.
Regardless, although the point of the piece seems to be that Trump is wrong (aren't most these days) I disagree on many levels.
Yes, he does want us to pull back a bit. And why not? A few short years ago we were apologizing as a nation ( through a different president ) for the unthinking things that our nation had done. Because back then, interference in other nations was bad. However, now a new President comes along and refuses to apologize. Instead he says "Fine; they can go at it alone."
How is this different?
I don't believe this means we won't intervene if it's called for by the situation. I DO believe it means that unless we are truly needed, we won't. We have been paying other governments for years and years under both Democrats and Republicans. We have kids starving here, infrastructure falling apart, jobs disappearing daily and I should feel badly that the President elect wants to pull back from the rest of the globe?
Reagan was quoted in the article as saying the US was a "shining city on a hill". A bible quote for those that may not know.
I've got another one; I paraphrase....don't point out the splinter in your brothers eye and ignore the log in your own.
We have to clean our own house first.

They are using some strong language against Nationalism... They almost appear to be promoting globalization...
