Already a thing.... Conversely old dogs like me press and do the test without pissing and moaning. Did mine last Sunday and after three months of being shelved for medical reasons- scored a 97%. We do this so our fat pasty peeps can get through it. Hey they get 364 days to rest after....

There is something I am missing or don't understand. Unless we we're going to, in, or coming out of the field or having a unit force march; we (Marines) had PT every morning. At least once a month, preferably, once a week, that included the PFT. That PFT is a diagnostic tool. As long as I meet the official requirement for regular reporting, why do I have to report every PFT.
Anyone who could not score at least 2nd class, had remedial PT after the unit secured. Anyone who failed had remedial PT on the weekends also. And if weight was a problem... they got to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner supervised by the company corpsman and a senior NCO or SNCO. It is part of the responsibilities of leadership. Barring a medical condition, if a Marine was in a unit six months and could not score 2nd class on the PFT, either the command leadership isn't earning their pay or the Marine is an unfixable liability.
