One of a surgeon's greatest problems in dealing with a cancer is to remove the bad tissue while harming the good as little as possible. No, I'm no surgeon, but my mother had a tumor in her brain and the surgeon took great care in explaining the difficulty in removing it without harming good tissue, that she might suffer certain impairments to brain function if important areas of the brain were harmed during the operation. Fortunately, he was good at his job and did little damage while excising the whole tumor. Sadly, it had already seeded over to the medula before he operated and she died from a new tumor that quickly ravaged that important area controlling functions such as heartbeat and breathing.

The VISN is a major problem within the VA. Most VA personnel do not even know they have one. The Hospital Administrator has his hands tied by the VISN. Just as in the Army, its the people doing the job who know how to fix it. The VA Secretary we have now leaves a lot to be desired. I am glad President Elect Trump is taking his time and looking for the right fit.
