Interesting read but the author seems to discount the fact that there are right and wrong answers to questions. More so that there are large groups of people who are ignorant of history and who dont follow current events beyond the Meme, and they really are clueless idiots.
I will use the recent example of Trump and his exec order on immigration. Many of the mass hysteria herd, mislead by the media, don't realize that 5 previous presidents did exactly the same thing, to include obama, Clinton, and Carter.

Ah, but does that mean that their viewpoint is false or simply uninformed? I think the author's viewpoint is exactly that...the assumption that an individual's point of view is factual/authentic/true creates inherent bias against considering alternatives. The wall of defense goes up.
I don't think the author was targeting truth or false...more the openness to meaningful discourse vs closed paradigm.

usually it is uninformed, or mislead. I give the media lots of credit for misinforming people, either through intentional falsification or by a lack of proper understanding of the subject themselves.

This was interesting, but very focused on the psychology. They do not take the sociology into it. The right and left work off very different social factors. Those factors added with morals of and values of what is acceptable behavior. Those actions help to divide each side even further than than just psychology. Until one side stops acting like a spoiled child it is hard to respect the views of the other side.
