Another stupid civilian idea that does more harm than good. If anything we should be reducing the civilian side of the military. At the top levels they are general managers not doers in a specific skills set. What this speaks to is the arogance that someone with tech experience deserves more pay. That that skill set require more education therefore should be treated differently. That concept is how we have the inequality in pay now. Blue collar jobs versus white collar. In the military the hire education is in the operational career fields and should be hire pay. But it's not and based on rank and years not occupation. Retirement for combat arms should also be at a 100% because it's not compatible with civilian skill sets . Our military combat arms leaders who were at the center of leadership then get cast away in the civilian sectors side because the skills are not immediately recognized. Have you ever b put a infantrymen mos into one of the so called military friendly company translators. It comes up with zero jobs available.

Would someone tell this clown that there's a way to do this without making them an O6 or senior NCO????
CONVERT their military position into a civilian position (GS)!!! We did that all of the time for certain skill sets that we could never obtain a fill for! You can even make the position deployable!! GS 14/15 has comparable pay and they can write the job requirements to fill the needs!
There are already enough issues with enlisted followership now for lieutenants, now you wanna REALLY give teeth to the argument for the senior officers???? Sure he might be a keyboard cowboy!! But what happens when he's the senior guy left and he has to make a military decision?! One that's based on years of experience and exercises and deployments?! So they'll make it such that he'll never have to be in that situation.....awww, how sweet! Zero respect OR support from their PEERS.....
Do they REALLY think these guys will put up with the BS that we affectionately call "the system"??? ONE thing I've seen that transcends all jobs..... Multimillionaires do NOT LIKE to be told NO......
Another stupid idea in the long line of UNINFORMED stupid ideas. BUT at least we'd know who was buying the drinks every day!! The millionaire among us!! IF we could break him away from his mansion, and yacht......LMAO!!!! Talk about animosity.......

Who dreams this crap up. It takes years to build experienced SSGs and PSGs and the stuff we do in the civilian world doesn't translate well into the military.
