Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Sir, POTUS lives behind a secured fence and with such protections as are granted a person in his roles with his responsibilities. He has NO choice during his term in office. As a private citizen, if he has the $$$ he can, as he has chosen to reside in Trump Tower his home base or one of his many resorts.

The "good Senator" on the other hand could as some do live 'among the people" but she made a choice to be "behind a wall." Philosophically, a barrier put up makes it harder for people to communicate. Yet, the old adage "good fences make good neighbors has much validity on a number of levels.

For instance, I have a 9-month old Huskie. We spent $2K to put in an electric fence, not to jeep people from coming in, but keep him from getting out for his safety. Yet, people can still come into the yard and he licks them! But, the nice ladies down the road with a horse drawn carriage that exercise their horses each spring and fall up and down the road remain safe as they know the dog cannot get outside the fence, be the Huskie knows he'll receive Pavlovian type shock so is calm and might bark for for a few seconds to stake his territory, but lays in the front yard keeping a watchful eye. So now we can safely let him roam the yard and know he will be safe. We are using this "barrier to keep" him safe!!! Unfortunately, with our old dog, that after 10 years died of cancer, we had to put him on 30-ft roaming chain. We had never had to do this before, but to let him out to "do his thing in his own way" we had to. Other times we had a fenced yard.

Now, if we were trying to keep others (people or critters - we have the occasional black bear or we always have deer) out. Because we have great neighbors that respect us as we respect them their has been no need to consider erecting a fence, except save to make it more difficult on the deer to eat my garden. LoL. However, if I felt threatened, in additional to other security I erect a fence around the 2+ acres of my immediate living are front, back and side yards. Yet, I din't yet feel threatened. Perhaps the fat that I have tow "heat packing" retire police officer that live within line of sight I have not yet been inclined to host the expense of a physical fence.

In Pelosi's case he took this step preemptively. Regardless of your opinion regarding Justice Kavanaugh, or Ms. Ford, those who invaded their privacy by coming to their homes and in both cases communicating threat are what I would refer to as "Terrorists in the 3rd or perhaps the 2nd degree.

The question is this in the name of "equality" either accept that "bad people exits" ad measures need to be taken to protect yourself and your family with simple measures or write a Constitutional amendment forcing all people who live in gated communities not to as it is "unfair" or allow people to live where they will given the means. In other words, Pelosi and the gang are hypocrites - first advocating for border security and now opposing it. Also, why are our nations military facilities secure? Why are fences and walls provide their and around our Embassies?

Sir, I am not trying to insult your intelligence, but common sense dictates that if ONE truly believes in "open borders, they own lives must demonstrate that openness, lest they are liars and hypocrites and not to be trusted." Allow me apologize if I have offended, I have always enjoyed out discussions here on RP.

I pray for a day when people can trust each other openly without borders, but right now is not the day as long as bad actors who manipulate and use other have little regard for our nation, we are forced to take as may appropriate actions needed to defend our people. Under Article II of the Constitution the President, any President, is charged with "...to the best of their ability with preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution of the the United States." So that "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union (that welcomes all who are will to help make it more perfect), establish justice (by not allowing those who would do any of us harm) and who have no interest in...), insuring domestic tranquility (with thuggish, dangerous and selfish behaviors and have not intention of ...), providing for the common defense (that also have no interest in...), promoting the general welfare (who are only interested in securing stealing and taking for themselves and their own..., (not...) the blessings of liberty (rather the entitlement to me and mine, while denying me an mine...) ourselves and our posterity (the capacity to pursue those blessings.)

In closing, I have come to view "progressives" in a much different light than I once did. Perhaps my next response will include a contrast and comparison of two resets:

Liberal (aka progressive) w/ Irresponsible VS Conservative w/ deliberately thinking

Keep in mind, I am 1st born here as mom's family has been here since the mid 1700's and my dad legally immigrated here after WWII with his mom. He spoke 9-languages and master English as one of those languages. He studied to become a Citizen (he was very proud of that achievement) and later joined the USAF becoming a crewman on 52's. He was never handed anything and I watched him struggle. He died young at 66 (which 4 short years from now I will also be.) I, perhaps like you have also seen abject poverty the world over. I hate it. Yet, I learned to also protect myself, not easy, but required.

This has been a long answer to a very short question. Yet, I felt it needed to, at least, begin to again address what many see as common sense! Ok, I have to get back to work!

LTC Eugene Chu - Snoops is not always correct, and we definitely do not allow it for an academic reference.

Perhaps they'll tap troops from Fort Drum in Watertown NY. They could use a relaxing vacation down south.
