When I first read your discussion I was thinking docs meant documents SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I know we have been keeping military combat documents since the civil war so I was puzzled. I am taking some stronger medications in addition to my usual ones :-)
I applaud Congress for wanting to keep and attract highly qualified combat doctors.
I hope DoD will soon focus on combat care and necessary surgery and treatment.

The military used to send doctors to work in the trauma center at Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles because it handled so many gun shot victims. In fact, it was the preferred hospital for the police since they knew the doctors there were vastly more experienced than other trauma centers. I don't know what's happening today. MLK Hosp was closed down for a time due to mismanagement (politics) and I've lost touch with the sources through which I learned this.
