The Queen Marked the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force

For the last year, the royal family's schedule has looked a little different, with many of their traditional in-person events deferred instead to virtual formats. But now that things are slowly beginning to reopen after the U.K.'s second lockdown, and with many of the senior members of the royal family (Her Majesty included) having received the COVID-19 vaccine, we're starting to see a return to the royal version of business as usual. For example, today the Queen commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force with a special visit to the Commonwealth War Grave Commission Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede.

For the event, which marked the 1921 founding of the RAAF, a wreath was laid on the Queen's behalf at the memorial, followed by a viewing of displays in honor of the Australian soldiers who gave their lives in the two World Wars and a meeting with RAAF personnel. Her Majesty looked spring ready in a one of her signature monochrome looks: a sunny heathered chartreuse coat and matching hat accented by yellow and white flowers.
