They were not the only ones. Everyone (that is Americans) tend to forget their other desperate heroes, such as the 106th Infantry Division and the 7th and 9th Armor Divisions at St. Vith, a little further north of Bastogne.
It is a sad day when someone writes such a headline as "The real..." since it is intended in some cases like this to be derogatory in nature. There are numerous stories from WW2 that qualifies as "Band of Brothers" stories and each of them are equally as important. You could take this title and apply it to numerous such stories and it would be equally valid; but in the way it is used here, it is sadly derogatory.
Real Band of Brothers:
442nd Infantry Regiment
WW2 Ranger Battalions
1st Special Service Force
Supply & Transportation units that made up the famed "Red Ball Express"
332nd Fighter Group
477th Bombardment Group
How about them they are ALL Real (not real (lower case)) Band of Brothers?

And sadly, I forgot to mention the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion, who was in support of the 106th Infantry Division.
May the 333rd FAB RIP and remain memorialized.
