The Real Monuments Men | Liberty Treehouse

The task of the real " Monuments men " was very substantive and vast. Even to this day it is ongoing. One item that I didn't know was that they also protected art from being damaged during war. Such as protection from bombings by building walls around sculptures. Even back then, they knew walls worked !

Since the 14th century, we have used substantive to speak of that which is of enough "substance" to stand alone, or be independent. By the 19th century, the word evolved related meanings, such as "enduring" and "essential." It also shares some senses with substantial, such as "considerable in quantity."
