I've got a Remington Argentine M1879 rifle in .43 Spanish (armory reconditioned) and I think it is an excellent rifle - well-balanced and with a simple, fast action. Somehow I got some modern-loaded .43 Spanish cartridges (smokeless), so I look forward to taking it out to try it for accuracy. Has anybody seen the bayonet for this model - it's a hard-to-find item!! I also wouldn't mind finding a 7mm version of the rolling block.

Have fun with that. I like the old rolling blocks. Your ammo is it safe for the pressures that the Remington can handle?

My local gun shop had one in that really obscure( 9. something millimeter. maybe 9.6mm?). I have never seen ammo except for online, and it was not cheap.

Simple, yet very efficient. I think I'll add this to my "want to shoot someday" list.
