The Supremes , Love Child 1968

I have watched a video on privilege. It has a fellow organizing a race for $100. He then handicaps some of the racers based on certain factors they cannot control like growing up in a two parent family, stable home etc. It is interesting how many of the factors came from having two parents in a home. Love Child is a song warning of the pain of growing up in a single parent home. The warning Ross expressed was ignored. Today celibacy and self control for teens is mocked etc. So, my children are supposed to be shamed (?), questioned etc because their parents followed Biblical admonitions? I gave this advice to my children, “ your mother and I cared enough about and had the courtesy to bring you into a home with two parents who loved you, I expect you to have the same courtesy for any children you bring into to the world. “. I also told them”I am not interested in living your life. Who you marry etc is up to you. I will not wake up in the morning next to them”. There is a line in the song, “ always second best...”. Seems there is some truth in the statement.
