History is happening all around us every day. Is it any wonder then that there is such a treasure trove of stories, our stories, history, waiting to be discovered? That is why I have studied history all my life and chose to write historical fiction when I "came of age" (in my mid-60's)

I read constantly. As a teen I had bookshelves full of history books.

I couldn't help but think of J.R.R. Tolkien and his literary preference for "History, real or imagined".
I recently ventured into "alternate history", e.g. "Bring the Jubilee" which ponders the effects of a Confederate victory in the Civil War. It illustrates the truth of "For want of a nail, the shoe was lost ..."

Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for making us aware about the Toronto, Ontario circus riot of 1855.
The Fireman and the Clown walking into the brothel sounds indeed sounds like the start of a joke.
