Kings may be fine for the Japanese and Zulus and Brits and various Arabs and whatnot, but as an American I don't need them, and the French were of the same opinion, or so it seems.

What people forget is that while that particular monarchy did end with the French Revolution, France was back in the monarchial saddle very soon. Napoleon was, by all practical standards, an emperor. And when he fell, Louis XVII was back on the throne.

1SG Steven Imerman I like to think that every individual who was alien to the idea of monarchy made his way to America. Which is why this country has been so resistant to monarchs while kings and queens have been the norm for every other nation
